Residence permit for research

For foreign researchers who wish to carry out formative training, research, or activities for development and innovation either in public or private entities established in Spain and who have an offer to carry out such activity. Article 72 of Law 14/2013.

Modification of the motive of stay for studies to the initial status of residence and employment as an employee.

It is an authorization for temporary residence and employment permit requested by an employer to hire a foreign worker who is in Spain for studies, research, training, or an internship.

Residence permit for job search or starting a business project

This authorization may be requested by those foreigners who have previously held a residence permit for study purposes and who have completed their studies at an authorized higher education institution in Spain, achieving at least Level 6 according to the European Qualifications Framework, corresponding to the accreditation of a university degree.

Residence permit for internships

This is an authorization that enables you to reside in Spain and to partake in an internship program by signing an internship agreement or internship contract in order to improve your knowledge, practice, and experience in a professional environment.

Consequently, foreign students who have obtained a higher education degree within the two years prior to the application date or who are currently pursuing studies leading to a higher education degree may apply for this permit.

The internships in question may be non-work-related (through an internship agreement) or work-related (through an internship contract).

Authorization to stay for non-work internships

It is an authorization that allows you to remain in Spain for a period of more than ninety days in order to undertake non-work-related internships in a public or private organization or entity, or an officially recognized vocational training center, within the framework of an agreement drawn up for that purpose.

This permit is not intended for students or graduates of higher education, as understood as university education, higher artistic education, higher vocational training, higher professional education in plastic arts and design, and higher sports education,  who must apply for a residence permit for internships.

Study permit. Mobility within the European Union. Holders of a study permit issued by another Member State with EU intra mobility.

Students  who hold a valid authorisation issued   by another Member State  and who participate in a Union or multilateral programme that includes mobility measures or who are covered by an agreement between two or more higher education institutions,  will have the right to enter and remain in Spain for a period of up to 360 days  in order to carry out part of their studies at a Spanish higher education institution,  after notifying the Government Delegation or Subdelegation in the province where the activity is to begin.

Employed work

It is a temporary residence and work as an employee permit requested by an employer or business owner to hire a worker for a period of more than ninety days and less than five years.

Self-employment

It is a temporary residence and work permit for a  non-resident foreigner  in Spain to carry out a lucrative activity on  his or her own account .
